Christianity is a call to be set apart, not to blend in. And as we follow Jesus, we can expect that others are watching and you’re going to stand out. As you follow him you’ll surely face moments of decision, where you’ll need to choose to honor Jesus or bow to your idols, and it will be costly. However, no matter how hot the fire may be, Jesus promises to be with you. He may choose to save you from it, or he may simply carry you through it, but he will be faithful to his promises. Three men in the Old Testament found this to be true in Daniel 3, and Jesus showed up to save Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego.
