Christian = Generous

Money, money, money! When Jesus transforms us, saves us, makes us born again, it also means our wallets and resources are born again, too. God is a generous God and when his Spirit comes into our hearts God moves us to be more generous as he is generous. Yet God won't force us or pry open our grip on our stuff, he allows us to choose to be generous. God desires for us to be cheerful givers not duty givers. Our money and resources are a gift from God to serve him. At the end of Acts 11 we again see the first Christians living out their faith in Jesus in a natural way which includes the church in Antioch taking up a voluntary offering to send to the church in Jerusalem. This is one of many mentions of money and generosity in the Book of Acts. You see, Christian fellowship is not talking about the weather and drinking coffee in the church foyer... it's worshipping together, prying together, getting into the Bible together, and sometimes giving each other money and resources!
