What amazes you? In Mark 6 we read about Jesus making a second return trip to his hometown of Nazareth. On his first visit after starting his ministry, Luke tells us the people there tired to kill him (Luke 4:16-31). On this visit, we read that Jesus was amazed by the people there. It’s one of only two times that Jesus is recorded as having been amazed in the New Testament—and both involved faith. He was amazed at their lack of faith, and in Matthew 8 at the Centurion’s confident faith. Faith is what unleashes God’s power to save us and to do mighty things in and through us. Would Jesus be amazed at your faith or your lack of it?
