Have you ever stopped to consider what Jesus is up to right now? Functionally, we might tend to think that following his ascension Jesus doesn’t have much to do but wait around for his glorious return. Scripture says otherwise. Jesus is as engaged, interested, and invested in our lives today as ever. Romans 8:34 reminds us that he is seated at the right hand of the Father, interceding on our behalf. Hebrews 7:25 tells us that he lives to intercede for us! 1 John 2:1-2 says he even advocates for us when we sin. Jesus has accomplished our atonement, justification, and redemption through his death, burial, and resurrection. He is now applying it to our lives through his intercession.
